Madan-Lal RAIGAR
Mr. Madan-Lal RAIGAR assumed charge as the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Congo on 20th October 2023. He is an officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) of 2007. Before joining the present assignment, he was serving as the Director in the Development Partnership Administration Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi. Mr. Raigar has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan.
His previous assignments include Consul General of India in Hamburg (Germany), Charge d’Affaires a.i. and Heads of Administration, Political, Economic and Consular Wings of the Embassy of India in Antananarivo (Madagascar). He has also served in various capacities at the Embassy of India, Khartoum (Sudan), the Consulate General of India, Vancouver (Canada), the High Commission of India, Colombo (Sri Lanka), the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi (UAE) and the Consulate General of India, Jeddah (KSA). At the headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, he has worked in Economic, Administration, Americas and the Projects Divisions.
His interests include music, sports, Yoga and reading. He speaks Hindi, Rajasthani and English. He is married to Mrs. Vimla RAIGAR, a Home Maker, and they have a son (Ashutosh) and a daughter (Arunima).
